Admission Process

We’re delighted to announce that from September 2019 PHC will welcome boys into Years 7 and 12 as the start of our transition to becoming a fully co-educational School.

There are opportunities to visit and get a taste of life at Princess Helena College throughout the academic year.

1.     Come to our Open Days and Mornings

Open Days are held on a Saturday twice a year.  We also host Open Mornings which are held on weekdays and provide an opportunity for prospective families to see the School at work. Parents can speak to specific teachers one-to-one, meet our Headmistress, tour the School and see what daily life is like at PHC.

Upcoming open events:

  • Coffee Morning on Friday 9th November, 9am - 11am.
  • Coffee Morning on Friday 16th November, 10am - 11.30am.
  • Coffee Morning on Friday 7th December, 9am - 11am. 

Prospective parents and children are invited to enjoy refreshments with the Interim Head Lynda Corry, followed by a tour of the school.

2.     Entrance Test

Pupils will sit their entrance test in January 2019 and take three papers: English - 50 minutes; Mathematics - 60 minutes; Verbal Reasoning - 30 minutes.

Our next Entrance Test is Thursday 17th January 2019

3.     Meet the Headmistress

Prospective parents and their son or daughter meets with our Headmistress, in her study.  This gives parents and children the opportunity to ask specific questions they may have about PHC. It also gives us the opportunity to find out more about your child and how we could help them thrive.

4.     Events

The School is always bustling with events from our Art Festival, House activities, music recitals to School shows, science exhibitions and Mud Runs.
