Sport
Learn about teamwork, leadership and strategic thinking
At Princess Helena College we promote the traditional values of sport and Physical Education to enable our students to become all-round athletes and sportspeople.
Our vision is for our students to have a passion for a range of sports and activities along with a hunger to learn and improve, in order to produce first class standards and performances.
We create a thriving and stimulating learning environment, where student leadership is at the heart of the department. Our curriculum is broad and balanced, consisting of a wide variety of activities from Rugby and Lacrosse to Athletics and Trampolining, where students participate in Games and Physical Education lessons weekly.
Our co-curricular provision encourages our students to further their involvement in sport and physical activity by representing the school and competing in district, county and national events. Inter-house tournaments between York, Windsor and Gloucester provides healthy competition within school and promotes participation for all.
Our T.A.G Team of gifted and talented Sports Captains, new to 2019, will take student leadership in lessons and co-curricular to the next level, while our scholars programme will continue to recognise the achievements of our students.
We look forward to a successful and prosperous year ahead. For more information on the PE and Sport department please contact Mr Jay Szwajbak, Director of Sport.
