May I take this opportunity to wish you a very warm welcome to Princess Helena College.
This is an exciting time in the school’s long history, not least because next year we shall be celebrating our bicentenary. As we consider our past, however, we are also ideally placed for our future; embarking upon the next chapter at PHC with the arrival of co-education and in joining United Learning. Both of these provide the school with a new set of opportunities and secure a strong, positive future for PHC in which our students can continue to thrive and gain the preparation they need to enjoy very happy and successful adult lives.
In my time already in school I have been delighted by the warm and purposeful atmosphere and the definite emphasis on the individual. I have seen a caring and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to realise their potential, both in and outside the classroom. I see students keen to work hard and supporting each other, celebrating their successes in whatever form that might take. We pride ourselves on our academic excellence, combined with a healthy balance of experiences beyond lessons; this is what gives our young people the confidence and skills to excel in school, at university and beyond.
Whilst I hope this gives you some flavour of life at PHC, and please do explore our website to see what our students have been doing this term, there is no experience that is better than coming and visiting us in person. We look forward to seeing you – either by joining us at one of our open mornings, or by making an appointment to see us at a time that suits you.
I very much look forward to welcoming you through the doors of PHC.
