PHC is a leading day and boarding independent school situated in a stunning Grade 2* listed estate in around 100 acres of parkland, just outside Hitchin in Hertfordshire. Founded in 1820 by Princess Augusta and Mrs Sophia Williams we have had the privilege of Royal patronage since 1838 when Queen Victoria became our Patron under a Royal Charter. Today, PHC provides an exceptional, rounded education for girls, and boys from Sept 2019, aged eleven to eighteen. 

We employ over 80 teaching and operational support staff in a community orientated environment, ensuring our pupils receive the very best in learning and co-curricular activities.

Current Vacancies

School Nurse 

PHC require a committed and capable individual to manage the surgery in this outstanding independent boarding school. The job holder will provide care for pupils during term time. They will be required to set a high standard of nursing practice in the management of acute and ongoing medical conditions. 

The successful candidate must be a Registered General Nurse or a Paediatric Nurse that hold a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council Pin number. It is essential applicants have at least six months post-registration experience, able to demonstrate clear empathy and understanding of young people’s development needs together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the role will be working with students (aged between eleven and eighteen), parents and colleagues.
