Wellbeing Co-Curricular Club Launches at PHC

/ Categories: General

This week saw the launch of the PHC Wellbeing Club. The club, which runs every Monday, gives students time to relax and focus on their emotional wellbeing by participating in activities that have been designed to boost student wellbeing.

The club is available to all students, delivered by 6 members of staff so that students can remain in their year group bubbles.

Activities include:

  • Watching a film.
  • Mindfulness colouring.
  • Going for a walk in our beautiful 100-acre grounds.
  • Playing board games with friends.
  • Relaxation techniques.
  • A craft activity.

This week year 8 enjoyed hot chocolate in the library with Miss Prosser, whilst playing board games and showing her their amazing magic trick with cards! The majority of the year group joined in which provided the perfect opportunity for them to relax and have fun together. Year 9 relaxed with mindfulness colouring in the art rooms with Miss Wilmot, whilst listening to music and chatting.

As a school we believe it is important to not only support the wellbeing of our students but that of the wider community, which is why next Friday we will be supporting Young Minds with their #HelloYellow campaign. All students are invited to donate £1 and wear their home clothes for one day, with at least a touch of yellow! The #HelloYellow initiative is a fun and positive way for students to share the message that it’s okay to reach out for help and that they’re not alone with their mental health.
