Wellbeing at Princess Helena College
/ Categories: General
The wellbeing of our students is more important than ever, over the last few months Mrs Penberthy (DSL and Houseparent), Mrs Chambers (Head of Key Stage 5), Ms Stanford (Head of Key Stage 4) and Miss Prosser (Head of Key Stage 3) have been working hard to create a series of wellbeing activities and a character programme to assist our students with the transition back to school. The aim of the wellbeing activities and character programme is to promote positive mental health amongst the PHC community.
Wellbeing activities are incredibly varied in order to appeal to each individual student, for example, one activity will include time away from the classroom, exploring the school’s grounds and connecting with nature, whilst another will include a discussion on self-confidence.
Alongside the wellbeing activities we are launching a character programme, each fortnight during form time students will focus on a different character trait. We will begin with adaptability.
In addition, careful consideration has been given to the structure of our co-curricular programme, which will be released shortly. Clubs have been designed to enhance student wellbeing, including sporting activities and mindfulness.
We will be providing parents with updates on the progress of our wellbeing activities and any tips for supporting your child at home in our fortnightly newsletter.
