U13s Girls Rugby Success

/ Categories: General

While the PHC Christmas party was in full flow, Mr Szwajbak felt more like Scrooge than Santa taking our u13s girls rugby team outside in the pouring rain to the Hitchin Rugby Club festival…however once the tournament started it was all smiles!

At the start of the Autumn term Team PE set up a rugby club on Thursdays which has seen nearly 30 students attend in KS3 this year, it was only a matter of time before we would get a chance to show what a great squad we have!

For most of our team it was their first ever experience playing competitive full contact rugby and we are delighted to share that we won every game!

In our first match we beat Robert Bloomfield by three tries to two, in our second game defeating The Priory by four tries to one, while in our last game we beat Highfield by four tries to two! Some of our girls enjoyed the tournament so much that they stayed for Hitchin Rugby Club training afterwards, we look forward to working closely with their coaches in the new year to create further opportunities for boys and girls at PHC.

Player of the tournament went to Mimi who scored three tries in total, although it was a phenomenal effort from the whole squad and a perfect way to end the term!
