Superb Seniors off to winning start!

/ Categories: General

Our Senior Netball squad started the new season with two impressive performances against Barnwell and Highfield on Monday 23 September

Against Barnwell we started the game strongly scoring two early goals, taking a 3-1 lead at half time. After the break Barnwell came back into the game with an early goal before our attacking players showed their quality, giving us a four goal cushion and 6-2 victory at the final whistle. Player of the Match was Asher!

In our second fixture of the evening we came up against the hosts Highfield, who had lost their first game. With our confidence high we breezed into a four goal lead before Highfield managed to get on the scoresheet. Further excellent movement and passing in the attacking third meant that we had a comfortable 6-1 lead at half time. In the second half our game management was much improved from the first match, where we showed great defensive qualities along with more zip in our passes, intercepting many Highfield attacks and countering swiftly. Our shooting was exceptional in the second half, scoring with almost each attack, resulting in a fantastic 13-2 win at the final whistle. Player of the Match was Georgie!

Well done to all of our squad for the evening: Asher, Bella, Esther, Fiona, Georgie, Khanyi, Sasha
