News from the PHC Archives: Part Four

/ Categories: General

Whilst exploring the archives we came across - an incredibly heavy - concrete block (pictured) which was etched with a sketch of the school when it was located in Regent's Park.

Sketch of the Adult Orphan Insitution

As many of you will be aware the school was established as The Adult Orphan Institution in 1820, to educate orphaned girls whose fathers had been in the Services or Church. Originally located in Hampstead Road, the school moved to Regent's Park in 1824 where it remained until 1882, when the school moved to Ealing. The school did not move to it's current home at Temple Dinsley until 1935.

We hope to be able to display this in the school budiling when we are able to return.
